Frequently Asked Questions

How much freezer space will I need for my pork share?

For a half hog, you'll need about 3-4 cubic feet of freezer space. For a whole hog, plan for 6-7 cubic feet. Typically, a whole hog provides around 5-6 full brown paper bags of meat. This amount can vary slightly based on your processing choices.

When will I receive my pork and how long does it take?

Once sent to the processor, your fresh pork cuts (like chops, sausage, and roasts) will be ready in approximately one week. Smoked items (such as bacon and hams) take a bit longer, and are available around a month later.

What is the best temperature for cooking pork to achieve the ideal tenderness and flavor?

For the best taste and texture, cook pork until the internal temperature reaches 145 °F at the thickest part. Allow the meat to rest for 3 minutes after cooking. This method ensures your pork is deliciously tender and flavorful.
